LoL Worlds 2023 Play-In Bracket and Teams

Following the LEC finals where G2 dominated Fnatic, Riot finally released the bracket for LoL Worlds 2023 play-in. This years edition will feature a brand new format: we will see 7 teams from all minor regions, as well as the winner of the Worlds Qualifying Series, which will be either Golden Guardians or Team BDS. This new and exicting structure will be sure to present even more storylines and narratives, only adding to the hype of Worlds 2023.

VCS and PCS will both have two representatives in the play-in stage, whilst all other regions only have one. The winner of the brackets will head to the group stage of Worlds 2023, which also features a new Swiss format.

What to expect at LoL Worlds 2023 Play-In?

It may have been a while since we last saw most of these regions play competitively, the common sentiment is that PCS is the stronger of the regions. VCS teams did not perform great and GAM also have not looked convincing, in spite of their reputation for being surprising underdogs.

For this year though, LOUD are certainly coming in strong as undersdogs. PSG Talon will inevitably challenge the Brazilians, and have a lot of hype around them. The region continues to get stronger, but they are yet to truly show that calibre on the international stage.

On the other side, inevitably the favourites will be either Team BDS or Golden Guardians, coming from the Worlds Qualifying Series. CTBC Flying Oyster are also one to watch out for, having matched PSG in the finals, showing that they are very competitive this year.
