CS2 Tournaments - Information on Counter-Strike 2 Esports Tournaments

Counter-Strike 2 is a legacy esports game that has evolved over the last 20+ years. In September 2023 CS2 was released which replaced CS:GO for all users. This means that there will no longer be CS:GO tournaments and instead they will be played on the new CS2 version of the game. Players compete for large prize pools in tournaments operated by a variety of different companies.

Counter-Strike is blessed to have many of the biggest gaming organisations in the world involved in its esports. Top level CS2 tournaments frequently have major teams being represented. It is argued that the only thing blocking other premier teams are the costs of entry. Since there are several teams in League of Legends, Dota 2 and even Valorant that do not participate in CS2.

Teams that are making an impact already in Counter-Strike 2 are FaZe Clan (winners of IEM Sydney), MOUZ, G2, ENCE, Team Vitality, Complexity, Natus Vincere, Monte, Virtus.pro and Cloud9.
